1- Stay in touch with teachers, and somehow, convey to him you are interested in his future, not just being punitive (but you are his parent - not his friend.
2- If he's running with a bad crowd, change it.
3- Make a connection between grades and privileges - daily.
4- And most important, be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day.
